Sitting here are my computer with the wind rattling the windows and rain splashing down outside it’s hard to believe yesterday was so glorious. I was out in the Hertfordshire countryside with a photographer, Richard Gooding (www.richardgoodingphotography.co.uk ), to take photos at a house I’d just finished designing.
The sky was a clear, unexpected blue, the trees all the shades of umber, scarlet, orange and yellow, and the meadows a well-nourished green. The soft November light ironed out the hard edges of summer and treated the fields and trees with the kindness of a softly focussed lens. “This is the best light,” Richard said. “This cool English light just makes pictures look wonderful”.
Having just received Richard’s photos, I agree. Here’s a sneak preview.
See the whole photoshoot on my new website next week.
